Magnetic Edition
A premium 3D-printed trading card deck box — PETG body, acrylic display window, and neodymium magnets for a clean snap-close lid. Engineered for collectors who want their chase card front and centre.
From sketch to shelf
Every project starts with a rough idea scratched onto graph paper. Geek Guard began as a simple question: why should collectors have to choose between protection and display?
Standard deck boxes keep cards safe but hide the artwork you spent months curating. Sleeves get bent, corners scuffed, and the best card in your collection sits in the dark.
3D-printed in PETG. Functional but rough — the friction-fit lid was inconsistent and the acrylic window fogged during assembly. Back to the drawing board.
Four N52 neodymium magnets embedded at the back of the body, paired with small neodymium magnets in the lid. The lid now snaps into place with a satisfying click — secure enough for transport, gentle enough to open one-handed.
A standard 2 mm acrylic panel forms the front face. Optically clear — your chase card stays visible without ever leaving protection.
Blueprint
3D-printed PETG shell with a textured matte finish. The front recess accepts the acrylic display window, held in place by the lid when closed. Four N52 neodymium magnets are embedded at the rear for the lid catch.
Also 3D-printed in PETG for a seamless colour match. Small neodymium magnets embedded in the lid align with the four N52 magnets in the body. A finger recess on the front edge makes one-handed opening effortless.
A standard 2 mm acrylic sheet, cut to size. Optically clear so holographic foils and etched signatures show through. The window sits in the front recess and is held in place when the lid is closed — no adhesives needed.
